December Rama Day 17-quotes from KKBB

December Rama 22

as most of you know, one of favorite movie is kiss kiss, bang bang, an action/comedy movie that came out eight  years ago and well, got a better life on cable and dvd than in the theaters ( plus the plot happens around christmas).so here are some quotes from kiss kiss, bang bang (2005):

Warning- some of these quotes have foul language, so read at your own risk!!!

Bear on TV Ad: I'm for Genaro's, but then, what do I know? I'm a bear. I suck the heads off of fish.

Harry: I peed on the corpse. Can they do, like, and ID from that?
Perry: I'm sorry, you peed on...?
Harry: On the corpse. My question is...
Perry: No, my question. I get to go first. Why in pluperfect hell would you pee on corpse?

Harry: [Confused] I just put in one bullet, didn't I?
Perry: You put a live round in that gun?
Harry: Well yeah, there was like an 8% chance.
Perry: Eight? Who taught you math!
December Rama Day 14- It's the Christmas hippo!!!

I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
A hippopotamus is all I want
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to
play with and enjoy

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that's the easy thing to do

I can see me now on Christmas
morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes
To see my hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
A hippopotamus is all I want
Mom says the hippo would eat me up to thin,
Teacher says a hippo is a vegetarian

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
The kind I saw last summer
in the zoo
We've got room for him in our garage
We'd feed him there and wash him there
and give him his massage

I can see me now on Christmas
morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes
To see my hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No kangaroos or duck-billed platypuses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!

December rama Day 15-quotes from The Santa Clause ( 1994)

Scott Calvin: [to fallen Santa Claus] Fella, if you can hear me, I'm just looking for your identification. As soon as I find out who you are, I'll give you a lift back to the mall.

Charlie: These are Santa's reindeer, aren't they?

Scott Calvin: I hope not. These are... A gift. Probably from the cable company. We're getting the Disney Channel now. Merry Christmas.

And for today, quotes from Santa Claus is Coming to Town (1970)

Narrator: Hey, it's getting late, and I've got these letters to deliver. You better be getting home, too. And remember, behave yourselves, because Santa can still look into his magic snowball and see just what you're up to. And now that you know all about him, you can be darn sure that come snow or high water, Santa Claus is comin' to town!

Dingle: Wiggle my ears and tickle my toes, methinks I see a baby's nose! It's more than a nose. There's a whole baby attached to it. Better call my brothers! Wingle! Bingle! Tingle! Zingle!

Zingle: What is it, Dingle?

Wingle: It's a baby, Zingle.

Tingle: A baby what, Wingle?

Bingle: A baby baby, Tingle.

Dingle: I like babies, Bingle.

Bingle: Our baby's the best baby of them all, Wingle.

Day 13

Elvis Presley – Blue Christmas Lyrics

Songwriters: JAY W. JOHNSON, BILLY HAYES
(words & music by billy hayes - jay johnson)
Ill have a blue christmas without you
Ill be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green christmas tree
Wont be the same dear, if you're not here with me

And when those blue snowflakes start falling
That's when those blue memories start calling
Youll be doin all right, with your christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue blue blue christmas

(instrumental break)

Youll be doin all right, with your christmas of white,
But I'll have a blue, blue christmas

December rama Day 11

Day 11- Decided to go back about 30 yrs ago for Band Aid's Christmas song, " Do they know it's Christmas?"

Band Aid – Do They Know It's Christmas Lyrics

Songwriters: URE, MIDGE/GELDOF, BOB
It's Christmastime; there's no need to be afraid
At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime
But say a prayer to pray for the other ones
At Christmastime

It's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears

And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime

The greatest gift they'll get this year is life
Oh, where nothing ever grows, no rain or rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Here's to you, raise a glass for ev'ryone
Here's to them, underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Feed the world
Feed the world

Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again

December Rama Days 8-10

once again, here are three days in one.

day 8- quote from a Charlie Brown Christmas ( 1965)-

Linus Van Pelt: "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the lord shone round about them, and they were
afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you this day is born in the City of Bethlehem, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men'". That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie brown.

day 9-quote from Stephen Colbert's The Greatest Gift of All ( 2008)

Jon Stewart: [singing] We have latkas...

Stephen Colbert: What are they?

Jon Stewart: [singing] ... potato pancakes. We have dreidels...

Stephen Colbert: What are they?

Jon Stewart: [singing] ... wooden tops. We have candles...

Stephen Colbert: What are they?

Jon Stewart: [yelling] They are *candles*!

and for day 10- quotes from A Chipmunk Christmas (1981)

David Seville: [coming up to the boys' room] Maybe I was a little hard on Alvin. I think I'll tell him that I...

Alvin: [panicky, still in his sleep] Money! I need money!

David Seville: [heading back downstairs] I give up.

Clyde Crashcup: I have begun with Santi Claus. That's 'Santi' for 'Santi', and 'Claus' for 'Claus'. Santi Clause. A kind man with a beard, and - a hat.

December Rama Days 6-7

December Rama Days 6-7

One of my favorite authors is Shel Silverstein, writer of The Giving Tree and Runny Babbit. Decided to post some songs that he is know for ( Shel was also a singer/composer/songwriter, best know for the Unicorn, Sylvia's Mother, Cover of the Rolling Stone and  A Boy named Sue)

Day 6
The Unicorn- recorded by Irish folk group Irish Rovers.

A long time ago, when the earth was still green,
There were more kinds of animals than you've ever seen;
They'd run around free while the earth was being born,
The loveliest of all was the Unicorn.

There was green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
The loveliest of all was the Unicorn.

Now God seen some sinnin' and it gave Him pain.
And He said, "Stand back, I'm going to make it rain."
He said, "Hey, brother Noah, I'll tell you what to do.
Build me a floating zoo."

And take some of them green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
Don't you forget my Unicorn."

Old Noah was there to answer the call,
He finished up making the Ark just as the rain started fallin',
He marched in the animals two by two
And he called out as they went through,
"Hey, Lord: I've got yer....

Green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but Lord, I'm so forlorn,
I just can't see no Unicorn."

Old Noah looked out into the driving rain,
Them Unicorns was hiding, playing silly games,
Kicking and splashing while the rain was pouring,
Oh, them silly Unicorns.

There was green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees,
Noah cried, "Close the doors 'cause the rain is pourin',
And we just can't wait for no Unicorns."

The Ark started movin', it drifted with the tide,
Them Unicorns looked up from the rock and they cried,
And the waters came down and sorta floated them away,
That's why you'll never see a Unicorn, to this very day.

You'll see green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born,
You're never gonna see no Unicorn.

Day 7

Sylvia's Mother- recorded by Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show

Sylvia's mother says Sylvia's busy,
too busy to come to the phone .
Sylvia's mother says Sylvia's trying
to start a new life of her own.
Sylvia's mother says "Sylvia's happy...
So why don't you leave her alone?"

And the operator says
"Forty cents more, for the next three minutes."
Please Mrs. Avery, I've just got to talk to her
I'll only keep her a while
Please Mrs. Avery, just want to tell her
Goodbye !

Sylvia's mother says Sylvia's packing,
she's gonna be leaving today.
Sylvia's mother says Sylvia's marrying
a fellah down Galveston way .
Sylvia's mother says "Please don't say nothing
to make her start crying and stay."

And the operator says
"Forty cents more, for the next three minutes."
Please Mrs. Avery, I've just got to talk to her
I'll only keep her a while
Please Mrs. Avery, just want to tell her
Goodbye !

Sylvia's mother says Sylvia's hurrying,
she's catching the nine'o'clock train.
Sylvia's mother says:"Take your umbrella,
cause Sylvie it's starting to rain."
And Sylvia's mother says "Thank you for calling
and sir won't you come back again ?"

And the operator says
"Forty cents more, for the next three minutes."
Please Mrs. Avery, I've just got to talk to her
I'll only keep her a while
Please Mrs. Avery, just want to tell her
Goodbye !

December Rama Days 4-5

December Rama Days 4-5

As you can see, I have some catching up to do. So....

Day 4

Phil Davis: Give me one reason, one good reason, why we should spend our last 2 hours in Florida looking at the sister's of Freckle-Face Haynes, the dog-faced boy.
Bob Wallace: Let's just say we're doing it for an old pal in the army.
Phil Davis: Well, it's not good, but it's a reason.

Betty Haynes: [singing on the train] I want to wash my hands, my face, my hair with snow.

from White Christmas (1954):

Day 5

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, O
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh.
